Full terms and conditions

1. The competition is open to all UK residents over the age of 18 who are eligible to work in the UK (including residents of the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man), except anyone involved in administration of the competition.  Only one entry per person must be submitted.

2. The prize consists of: Two winners will work at either Mercure Windsor Castle Hotel or Mercure Blackburn Dunkenhalgh.  One winner to be placed at one hotel.  Please refer to the job description available from samantha.parry@accor.com. In addition, the two winners will receive three nights for two people at a Mercure hotel located in Paris, to include Eurostar tickets for two people and £300 cash.

3. Entry to the competition is by completing the following tasks:

3. Entries must be submitted by no later than 17:00 on 6 September 2010.  Late or illegible entries will be disqualified.  Mercure cannot take any responsibility for any technical failure or malfunction, which may result in any entry being lost or not properly registered or recorded.

4. By submitting an entry for the competition, entrants are deemed to have given consent for the entry to be published and discussed free of charge by Mercure in all media, including television, radio and internet, for all purposes as it wishes.  Mercure will own all copyrights to the design of the ultimate console. 

5. From the date of submission, the submissions will remain on the Site for a maximum period of five months and Site visitors will be invited to register and vote for their favourite candidate on the scale of one to ten.  Site visitors will be able to vote until 22nd September. 

6. Votes collected by Site visitors will not determine who the winners shall be. All entries will be judged in the first instance by Mercure HR and operational managers and Mercure’s representatives. The first judging round will select a shortlist of entries, which will be judged by the second judging panel which will consist of senior members of the Mercure team as well as a high profile judge.  The judging will be conducted by interview and telephone calls. If an entrant is unable to be contacted after reasonable attempts have been made to do so, Mercure reserves the right to offer their place to the next best entrant. Unsuccessful entrants will not be contacted.  Shortlisted candidates must be available for interview on 22nd September 2010 at a London venue to be confirmed.

7. Each winner must be available to start work by Monday 1st November. 

8. The prizes will be as stated. The prizes cannot be transferred and there is no cash alternative. In the event of any of the winners being unable to be contacted, after reasonable attempts have been made, or if any is found to be in breach of the rules or fails to take up their prize for any reason, including illness, unavailability, Mercure reserves the right to offer the prize to a runner-up but it is not obliged to do so.

9. Mercure’s decision as to the winners is final. No correspondence relating to the competition will be entered into.

10. Entrants will be expected to take part in post-competition publicity for Mercure.

11. Mercure reserves the right to cancel the competition or any of these rules at any stage, if deemed necessary in its opinion, or if circumstances arise outside of its control

Mercure will only ever use personal details for the purposes of administering this competition, and will not publish them or provide them to anyone without permission, save for the entrant’s name and most romantic thing, which will be published on the Site alongside the entrant’s clip. 13. Any views expressed by members of the public are theirs and unless specifically stated are not those of Mercure.   Mercure is not responsible for any content posted by members of the public on the Site.

14. To the extent permitted by law, Mercure excludes all representations and warranties (whether express or implied by law), including the implied warranties of satisfactory quality, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, compatibility, security and accuracy. Mercure does not guarantee the timeliness, completeness or performance of the Site or any of the content. While we try to ensure that all content provided by Mercure is correct at the time of publication no responsibility is accepted by or on behalf of Mercure for any errors, omissions or inaccurate content on the Site.

15. Mercure does not warrant that functions available on the Site will be uninterrupted or error free, that defects will be corrected, or that the Site or the server that makes it available are free of viruses or bugs. You acknowledge that it is your responsibility to implement sufficient procedures and virus checks (including anti-virus and other security checks) to satisfy your particular requirements for the accuracy of data input and output.

16. These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales
